Accounting System for Wineries

The accompanying chart of accounts reflects the accounting schema used to build the Virtual Winery V3 System; however, it is not necessary to implement this chart of accounts to implement the system.

The flow charts and accompanying chart of accounts are an example of how to organize your accounting system so that your accounting classifications are consistent with the departments and budget line items used in the Virtual Winery System V3. Of course, you may have to add and/or delete accounts to reflect circumstances unique to your operations. The chart includes a set of sample financial and management reports for a winery operation. These reports reflect the minimum amount of information you should receive no latter than 30 days after the end of each quarter (monthly is even better!).

The chart has four levels of detail displayed by selecting the appropriate level from the pull-down box. Level one is the macro level, 2 is the financial reporting level, 3 is the management reporting level and 4 is the detail costing levels.
